You’re Inside the H2FA Design Lab
A collaborative space that’s at the forefront of context sensitive design with a future forward vision.
At Hydrogen Fuels Australia, our plans include off-grid green hydrogen production that runs in #IslandMode, combined with distribution to our own fuel stations, creating more resilient communities and a synergy with nature. While hydrogen technology and operations are our focus, the user experience at our stations aims to set us apart from competitors. H_Station Design
H_Station signifies a grand step in a global initiative toward a sustainable future. In an era of extreme technological progress and environmental degradation, H_Station provides hope that a balance between the synthetic and natural world can be achieved.
Human existence must return as a partner of the natural environment's ecological system. For this to be possible, technological progress must continue on the basis of developing synergies with nature. Design can help to humanise a place - this synergy creates an environment that bridges the gap for a better user experience.

The 17th Venice Biennale of Architecture
We are honoured that our H2FA H_Station project by H_Scaled was invited to this year’s 17th Venice Architecture Biennale, 2021 with the theme: “How Will We Live Together?” This year’s theme perfectly describes the main mission of the H2FA Design Team in helping to create resilient communities.

The Design Files Finalist
We are pleased that the H_Station design has been shortlisted in The Design Files + Laminex Australia Design Awards, a program designed to acknowledge and recognise the diverse creative fields which make up modern Australia. We look forward to sharing more details on the innovative and imaginative industrial design vision for our first location.

H2FA Bimini Dispenser
Traditional refuelling stations are notorious for their fume and concrete characteristics. Fossil fuels don't allow for many other alternatives. Remaining on-site for more time than necessary is undesirable for users. Most people wouldn’t want to take in the surroundings or even take a deep breath at a typical petrol station. Fuel dispensers offer little else than a few advertisements and a total utilitarian experience. It seems that design development toward this aspect has not yet evolved. We’ve set out to change this.

Sarah Ceravolo
Sarah Ceravolo
Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Hydrogen Fuels Australia
Sarah is the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of H2FA, where she explores the transfiguration of fossil fuel to clean energy and the great potential for a positive urban and environmental impact through design. A designer living and working in Melbourne, Australia, she is also the founder of both Convolo Design and H_SCALED. Sarah promotes an abstract, non-stylistic design ethos in order to think divergently and envisage solutions toward a sustainable and liveable future. Drawing on her architectural background, one of Sarah’s main focuses is to discover places for the human scale relative to the integration of technology into the built environment.
